PINEY RIDGE was named a quarterfinalist in the 16th Annual Writer's Network Screenplay & Fiction Competition (sponsored by Fade In magazine).  This year's competition received over 1,400 entries from around the world.  According to the compeition judges, Piney Ridge received high marks solely on its storytelling talent.  As only 547 writers advancing to this stage, the TV pilot will now compete for the semifinalist round of judging by a panel of literary agents, managers and WGAw writers.

  
 ROSES IN THE WATER and HARAM placed 12th and 38th, respectively in the 78th Annual Writer's Digest Writing Competition.  The list of 100 winners in the Stage Play Category was announced on October 16, 2009.

BETTY'S WISH was recently selected for the Essential Theatre's three-year play development program in Washington, D.C.  The New Play Reading Series was created to give voice to the new work of new and established playwrights.  Further, it is a forum where audience members are welcomed to engage in an open dialogue with the playwright and director about the issue presented in the material as well as techniques used to present them.  The New Play Reading Series was initiated in the spring of 1992.  As part of the development process, Betty's Wish will receive a staged reading in June 2010.  S. Robert Morgan, a cast member of the HBO series The Wire, serves as artistic director for the theatre.
